Excuse me while I clear the cobwebs and dead flies from this blog space on my website. Seems I haven't been in here in AGES. Has the carpet always been this color?
Here's WADDUP with KJD:
- FOUR, count em' FOUR knowonder! Story-A-Day short story collections are out and available for sale. Yes, I have one or a couple of stories in each one! They are fabulous little books, chock full of great writing. Check em' out at the link below.
- I've taken steps to make Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! available in the Olathe school libraries. Next step - Johnson County Libraries. Then - local bookstores. Who knew self-promotion would be so intimidating and time consuming? I gotta get better at it, though.
- I finished up a killer 900ish word manuscript for the 12x12 picture book writing challenge. Submitted it to an agent on 2/27 and received a prompt, very kind, very positive rejection email. Will contemplate where to send it next. AND will be starting on manuscript #2 for agent submission at end of March. Yep, 12x12 means twelve PB manuscripts in 12 months. Get it!?
- Submitted a humorous "piece of writing" which is not really a story to a website called "McSweeney's". My first non-knowonder! story submission in a long time. We will all wait on pins and needles for their reply.
I believe that's all I have to report, for now.
Before signing off, I have to say Happy Birthday to Dr Seuss. Genius writer, clever illustrator, phenomenal body of work. A true inspiration to ALL writers and artists.
